I received an e-ARC copy of this book for a blog tour in return for an honest review. I would have to say that this is by far the best one out of the three novellas. I really enjoyed this story a lot. I could feel the love and affections that these characters had for one another. It's of course another fast paced story but I was lured in and had trouble putting the book down once I started it!! It's very well written and the story line was remarkable in this one. I would highly recommend this book to all paranormal romance lovers!!! I can't wait to read more from this amazing author!!

MY RATING

Most of my favorite authors are indie or self-pubbed, what made you decide to go that route?

I did try the traditional publisher route, but unfortunately got knocked back at every turn. My stories have too much of my heart and soul in them to just walk away because someone said no. I usually don’t take no for an answer.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

Just how creative I can be and how much my mood reflects the way I write. I find when I’m in a bad mood, I write really aggressively and my action scenes benefit.

Which of your characters are you most like?

I’d have to say Nicola, from The Ivory Series. Some of the crazy antics she gets up to reminds me of myself when I was her age.

Which are you least like?

I guess there is a little of me in all my characters. A slight trait or quirk, but then I overlap it with other people’s personalities.

Do you have a particular writing habit?

Not really and I don’t plan out my stories before I write. I just get in front of my computer and let it all flow.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

I think my writing style is similar to Becca Fitzpatrick, pretty easy going and flows naturally. I want readers to feel a part of my story.

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

I haven’t read too many new authors, but have a lot on my TBR list. From what I have read I do enjoy Brina Courtney. Her writing is very easy and free flowing.

What is the hardest part of your writing?

It can be very lonely, you escape inside your own head at times to sort your characters out and the people around you tend to get neglected.

Do you have any advice for other writers?
I never really thought about how much work goes into writing a book until I actually did it.
First you need an idea, then you need to research the topic, write, re-write, then write some more.
Cover ideas, marketing, publicity, networking, editing, releasing, all while juggling home life!
Writing is not a 9-5 job, it’s a 24 hour one because idea’s will come to you in the strangest of places, so be prepared to work hard.

Describe yourself in three words.

Stubborn, perfectionist, creative.

I know characters are like children but if you could chose, who’s your favorite from your books? Of all time?

Oh you can’t make me chose between my babies! Um, I’d have to say Karina from The Beast Within novellas. Her growth from book 1 to book 3 is enormous and she is now really kick arse, which I love.

Any song or songs that could basically sum up the overall mood of your writing?

Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones….lol. I don’t really know.

Do you plot out your books or just freely write them and let the characters tell you what to do next?

My characters tell me what to do. I don’t plot out anything, I may do research along the way, but generally just let my imagination run wild.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider the biggest influence in your writing?

I am a devotee of Anne Rice. Her work is so beautifully descriptive, and she will always be the Queen of vampires.
I recently took part in the Goodreads video chat with her. It was 4am in Australia and got up early to listen to her discuss her writing, she is truly inspirational.

What are your current projects? Can you share a little of your current work with us?

I alternate between The Ivory Series and The Beast Within novella’s. They are written in different POV so it clears my head. So book 3 of my vampire books should be out in the coming months. Although Davarus from Journey is plaguing me, he wants his own book and my mind is going crazy with ideas. I am also working on a spin off stand-alone from The Ivory Series, called Fate, The Ivan and Cassidy story. Then I have some YA Greek mythology stories floating around too.
