RELEASE DAY BLITZ & REVIEW: Gods & Monsters by Nathan Squiers

Gods & Monsters
A Crimson Shadow Novel #6
Nathan Squiers

Xander Stryker has faced a lot in the past few years:
An abusive, misery-hungry stepfather…

A psychotic rogue with a vendetta against Xander’s bloodline…
Super-powered hunters…
And a being once hailed as a goddess.
And, through it all, miles and miles of blood-thirsty rogues.
Yet, all that seems to have meant little for what Xander finds himself against: a force unlike any other that has already anchored itself to his city like a weed. A force that has made anyone and everyone a possible enemy. A force hiding under the guise of a church, spreading a gospel of monsters and murder.

With everything that he’s worked so hard to create coming unraveled, Xander will be forced to make it the ultimate sacrifice.

I must say I am dumbfounded and completely at a loss for words after reading this story.......

Well, we have made it to a new adventure with some amazing, yet surprising turn of events in book six. Before I go on with my review of this book, I must say it has been quite the wild ride since Crimson Shadow came out and this author's style of writing has grown an incredible amount since then along with the characters in this series. This author really knows how to intrigued, interest, and inspire us with his magic through the characters and the words that fly off the pages as we read. With that being said, let's see what I thought of book six.......

This book was phenomenal and I absolutely loved every single minute of it. So many awesome and amazingly shocking events have happened in this book. Too many to actually talk about without giving it all away. The characters were still just as awesome and the new characters in the story were pretty fantastic too. The author did an incredible job bringing forward the feelers in this book. I was either laughing out loud, so much so that I almost thought I might have woke my neighbors, to feeling anger right along with the characters, to actually snot crying so hard that my tissues couldn't hold it all, to almost, but not quite throwing my kindle in frustration. Squiers did not disappoint with all the action, blood, gore, and suspense either. Every magical page had me craving to read more and I devoured this whole story within a twelve hour period of time. Though, the author felt us with quite the cliffhanger, which I am rarely fond of, I understand why the author left us hanging where he did. The author also tied up a few loose ends in this story as well, which made me smile as I read them as I remembered them from past books throughout this roller-coaster ride.

This is by far my favorite story, granite, I did get mad at the author a couple of times, and is in my top five favorite reads of 2017. I am anxious and a bit nervous to see what this author has in store of Xander, Estella, and the gang in the next and final installment to this amazingly kick butt series. I highly recommend this read!!

READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.
Due to the graphic scenes and language, this book is NOT for the faint of heart, nor for anyone under the age of 18.

REVIEW: Blue Moon by Megan J. Parker & Nathan Squiers

Blue Moon
A Scarlet Night Novel
Megan J. Parker & Nathan Squiers

Cursed rage beasts?
A sassy vampire in emotional turmoil?
Joining an assault against an apocalyptic army of death?
No problem; piece of cake; no biggie!

Zoey has never needed to use her vampiric mind-reading or telekinetic gifts to be the voice of reason, but there’s one person whose problems she’s never been able to get a handle on…

Herself.

So when she and her therion lover, Isaac, accept a new mission to take out a demented, inhuman threat with a taste for torture, Zoey’s eager to keep things strictly business. Unfortunately, with this new danger threatening to tear their world apart, the vampire-werewolf lovers find themselves in the company of a not-so-friendly pack of Isaac’s kin, and a fresh batch of problems arise.

With chaos igniting at every turn and a constantly dwindling hope, Zoey and Isaac find themselves in a struggle for survival that’ll put everything they have to the test. Between Zoey’s sinking confidence and soaring doubts, it may be impossible to find a middle ground in time to stop the impending carnage.

This Literary Dark Duo has done it again. These two authors have come together to bring forth another epic and wild ride within the pages of yet another incredible read. When separated, these two are awesome, but when both minds are brought together, they are an amazingly unstoppable pair.

This story was so addicting, I had it finished within twenty-four hours and lack of sleep was so worth it. I loved this story of Zoey and Isaac. It was a lot of fun getting to know these particular two characters and I loved reading about the other characters that they encountered along the way. I was constantly finding something new at the turn of each page. These authors did an amazing job at bring forth enough horror and gore to keep me shuddering and yet added just enough humor to make me laugh out loud, scare my cat, and forget what the horrifying event was to happen next. I am extremely excited at how this duo collaborated together to make one heck of a memorable story and I can't wait to see what they have in store for us next.

I highly recommend this read, though I must advise that this is not for younger readers nor the faint of heart due to some of the graphic scenes in the story.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Born in Massachusetts in 1986, Nathan Squiers (The Literary Dark Emperor) grew up in Andover, where his affinity for story-telling flourished due to a love of books and movies as well as an overactive imagination. At the age of 13, Nathan and his mother moved to Upstate New York to be closer to their family.

After surviving public school, where he spent most of his days locked away in the AV room watching old 80s movies on Laserdisc and planning out his next video project, Nathan began a shaky college career. A love of weaving tales and telling stories was motivation enough to pursue an education in English, and, as luck would have it, a series of phenomenal professors were available to get him pointed in the right direction. It was in his first years of college that Nathan began to actively pursue a writing career, starting his first literary journey with a piece that would later become "Noir", the first book of the Crimson Shadow series.

Like any good story, a chaotic turn of events brought Nathan from the very brink of insanity and loneliness to the warm, comforting embrace of Megan, his best friend, lover, kindred spirit, and--more often than not--personal handler. It was with Megan at his side that Nathan was able to continue his writing (sometimes solely motivated by the young lady's threats of dismemberment if he tried to stop). With Megan's help, Nathan was able to see Death Metal, his fourth manuscript, through the publication process.

Nearly ten years later, The Literary Dark Emperor (now a multi-award winning author and co-owner/manager of Tiger Dynasty Publishing) continues to invent stories and put them into a literary sequence that he hopes will be somehow decipherable by other readers. As a lover of all things creative, he works in both novels, novellas, short stories, as well as comic book scripts (just don't ask him to draw something if you don't like stick figures and poorly-executed shapes).

If he's not submerged in the realm of fiction or burning out his retinas with horror movie marathons, Nathan is planning/getting a new piercing/tattoo or enjoying life with his lovely wife and fellow author, Megan J. Parker.

Megan J. Parker lives in upstate New York in a small town that no one can spell or pronounce. She is normally found either hanging in her home with her fiancée, Nathan, and two evil cats that believe they are the kings of the house, or on campus at the local college sitting in the art rooms with her face plastered to the Mac-lab computers.

On her down time, she likes reading and designing new logos and videos. Her passion for telling stories is portrayed in all her work and when there's a story to tell, you can be sure she'll tell it to its full extent. She aspires to own her own design company and work in a studio where she can edit and write to her heart's content.

REVIEW: The Longest Night by Nathan Squiers

The Longest Night
Crimson Shadow #5
Nathan Squiers

Wow, what a way to start off a honeymoon and the fist night as husband and wife.

This author never fails at keeping me entertained and on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. This story was magnificent and I love how the author set up the story-line and kept us up to date with what was going on in the present and what happened in the past. I loved the energy, love and power between Xander and Estella and how that helped them win their battle in the end of the biggest, baddest monster of them all so far. This battle was scary and yet I couldn't help but keep reading because I had to know how it would end. I was extremely shocked by the ending and I can't wait to know more about the character that will be looking to avenge some deaths and what will become of Xander and Estella. I highly recommend this story and it also gets my five book approval and more. This is a remarkable horror story and one I one of my favorites yet that this author has written.

CAUTION: This book is NOT for the faint of heart. If gore, violence, and blood is not your type, then this book is not for you.

Crimson Shadow - The Longest Night

They say that those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it…

Xander and Estella Stryker have faced a great deal in their pasts, but as the newlywed clan leaders look out at the cheering faces of their fellow vampires and other mythos allies, their histories are the furthest things from their minds. After all, they’ve got a future to plan for and a honeymoon to enjoy.

Now, with their honeymoon delayed, a would-be business trip turns into a hellish fight for survival. Separated and hunted by a ruthless, unstoppable creature, the lovers’ horrifying past is relived as they find themselves dragged into a mission that began before they were even born. Their future’s going to have to wait, because if they can’t learn from the past their longest night could quite possibly become their last.
