SOMETIMES ANGELS COME IN HUMAN FORM.

Kaitlyn Summers is heartbroken.

When she receives an invitation to spend Christmas with her family on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, she feels it may be the perfect medicine.

She throws herself into helping her sister’s struggling art gallery, even taking a temporary job for extra money by looking after a little girl from her nephew’s school. She also begins to paint again, something she’s been unable to do since her breakup. It’s tempting to stay on Kauai, but she has obligations back in Los Angeles.

Life gets more complicated when circumstances keep putting her close to Leonardo Medici. Not only is he drop-dead gorgeous, he’s a local celebrity. But Kaitlyn can’t shake the feeling he’s hiding something.

Should she believe the rumors that he’s romancing half the island’s single women?

Or is the random sound of wind chimes when he’s close-by a sign that an angel is near and the secret to her happily ever after?

Sometimes angels come in human form. -When the Wind Chimes

The characters were phenomenal!!! I loved reading and getting to know Kate, Bridget, Lee, Tyler and Abby. These characters made the story come to life and made all the feelers come out too.

The story-line was amazing!! It was such a warm and heartfelt story and has put me into the Christmas spirit. I completely fell in love with this story and I ended up having some chills in some parts within it. It felt like it was a true story and I got a front row seat to watch it unfold. It made me smile and I felt like a giddy school girl. Ting did a fantastic job making this story so fun and light and reminded us that Christmas is more than just presents. It's about love and giving and family and friends along with miracles!! Fate sure did it's job bringing this story to life and the plot kept me hoping and wishing for a happy ending. I highly recommend this read!!!

Teaser
The flickering light cast spooky shadows over the numerous colorful tapestries hanging throughout the long hall. Most were forest scenes, where large creatures like wild dogs and wolves hunted down deer and other woodland animals. The bright crimson depicted in the artwork disturbed Durra more than the cruelty of the killings. She wondered why such a gruesome subject was on the walls of a convent.

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: MCV Egan Tour and Giveaway

Death of a Sculptor in Hue, Shape and Color
by M.C.V. Egan
Genre: Suburban Women's Fiction

Color coded love stories and revealing female anatomies lead to the murder of world renowned sculptor, Bruce Jones.

In life, the artist loved women, almost as much as women loved him. Adored for his art and colorful personality, Bruce is mourned by the world at large. The tale is launched with the multifaceted perspectives of four ex-wives, the current wife, and his new love interest and their children.

Mary , Bruce’s wealthy first love, is always in perfect pink; the color of love. Mother of Clair the famous actress and Aaron the corporate lawyer.

Leslie The Second’s color is yellow for her sunny nature as much as for her fears and insecurities. Her only son Bobby is vulnerable and lost. Mourning his father’s death, he finds himself.

Petra The Third, is outstanding in orange, representing not only her native Holland but also her love of the fruit. Cherished her freedom and had no children of her own.

Toni The Fourth is a vibrant passionate Italian red and part of the eventual glue that creates and solidifies this dysfunctional Jones family. Her teenage daughters Tina and Isa are as different as night and day.

Brooke The Fifth a gold-digger. Green, her color, reflects the color of money and envy. Her young son’s Kyle and Caleb are too young to understand why their world has been turned upside-down.
Mara, as blue as the ocean was the last woman to steal Bruce’s heart. Mother to newborn Baby Peter is the unexpected gift and surprise.

Bruce Jones’ eight children speak out, too. They are as distinctive as the women he loved, their mothers.

Loose ends are tied up by the insights of Sylvia, Aaron’s wife and a trusted keeper of secrets; Scott, the private investigator and family friend; Nona, the quintessential grandmother everyone loves but to whom few are truly related; and Detective Jim Miller who will not rest until he discovers Bruce Jones’ murderer.

I absolutely loved how the author wrote this story. This author has always had a unique style of writing and can reel in and capture her audience with her words on paper and this story is no different. This story was so much fun to read!! It was a magnificent mystery full of surprises, and a few giggles, that I didn't see coming, with a remarkable twist to it at the end. The characters were incredible and the story-line was just fantastic. I loved how we got to know the thoughts and feelings of each individual character that played a roll in Bruce's life. I also loved how each ex-wife was a different color in the sculptor's mind and how the death of Bruce brought the whole family together in the end. This was a great work of art and I can say that I believe that this author is a complete genius!! I highly recommend this story to all adults to enjoy!!

I am a YA Paranormal Reader, but from time to time, I have a tendency to step out of that comfort zone and read other genres and when it comes to MCV Egan, I jump to read her work as she releases it.

This story has as many layers as an onion. I am completely shocked at the 365 degree turn that this author as taken in writing this story compared to her other works that I have read. I really enjoyed the twisted plot and some of the humor that was built into this story. The characters are phenomenal and the book is very well written. I highly recommend reading this book and I know you will be just as addicted to this author's unique writing style as I am. I am anxious to read what this author has next in store for us.

The Bridge of Deaths
A Love Story and Mystery
by M.C.V. Egan
Genre: Historical Mystery

On August 15th, 1939, an English passenger plane from British Airways Ltd. crashed in Danish waters between the towns of NykΓΈbing Falster and Vordingborg. There were five casualties reported and one survivor. Just two weeks before, Hitler invaded Poland. With the world at the brink of war, the manner in which this incident was investigated left much open to doubt. The jurisdiction battle between the two towns and the newly formed Danish secret police created an atmosphere of intrigue and distrust. The Bridge of Deaths is a love story and a mystery. Fictional characters travel through the world of past life regressions and information acquired from psychics as well as archives and historical sources to solve "one of those mysteries that never get solved." Based on true events and real people, The Bridge of Deaths is the culmination of 18 years of sifting through conventional and unconventional sources in Denmark, England, Mexico and the United States. The story finds a way to help the reader feel that s/he is also sifting through data and forming their own conclusions. Cross The Bridge of Deaths into 1939, and dive into cold Danish waters to uncover the secrets of the G-AESY.

I have to start out by saying I was a little leary about whether or not I would like this book. I knew from the beginning that this was not one of my usual reads, but I was intrigued and took it to my local library and myself and a librarian did a little research check on it!! The more we read about the book and the reviews that went with it, it intrigued me more and I set off for home to start reading it.

WOW, what an amazing story this is!! I was extremely fascinated and addicted to it from beginning to end!! The book is very well written and is very fast paced!! I could tell that the author took a lot of time and did a lot of research to bring this story alive!! I had half this book read before I went to sleep the very first night!! I felt like I was part of the story and could relate to the characters!! It's a MUST read Adult book and a refreshingly unique story that will keep you reading more!! Thank you, Mcv for this fabulous story!!

Lynn Stevens flunked out of college writing her first novel. Yes, she still has it and no, you can't read it. Surprisingly, she graduated with honors at her third school. A former farm girl turned city slicker, Lynn lives in the Midwest where she drinks coffee she can't pronounce and sips tea when she's out of coffee. When she's out of both, just stay away.

The field wasn’t different. Then again, one softball field looks like another. I dropped my bag in the fenced-in dugout, a puff of dirt exploding beneath it. It was sufficiently dusty from sitting in my closet since my senior year in high school. That was the last time I bothered with my softball glove and plastic cleats.
“Can I help you?” a petite dark blonde stepped away from the third base line and toward the dugout. A scowl covered her face, drawing lines around her eyes. There was something familiar about her, but I couldn’t quite place where I’d seen her before.
“I’m Chuck.” I held out my hand. She stared at it and crossed her arms over her chest. “Mathis. Chuck Mathis.”
“Oh,” she said. Recognition of my last name dawned in her brown eyes, but that didn’t change her stance one bit. “Oh, well. Everything going well here. We’re ready for our first game next week and –”
“Sweetheart, I’m here to play.” I drug out each word like an asshole.
She snorted and turned around, muttering, “Ya right.”
What the hell? I hurried after her onto the infield. This chick thought I was checking up on her then when I said I was there to play; she blew me off. Several members of the team stopped to watch our little show. My buddy Joey waved from right field and didn’t bother to control his laughter. I shook my head at him.
“‘Ya right?’ What’s that supposed to mean?” I touched her shoulder, which was the wrong thing to do by the way she spun back around to face me.
“First, don’t ever touch me again. Second, I’m not your sweetheart.” Her finger jammed into my chest as each word shot from her mouth. “Third, I don’t need some hotshot college player taking over my team. Mr. Mathis made it clear I could manage this year and that’s what I plan to do. So you can pick your bag up and go back to Westland. I’m sure there are plenty of people there that wouldn’t mind having you around.”
Actually that was the last thing I wanted to do. This chick didn’t need to know that though. This chick did need to know that I wasn’t planning on taking over the team. Yeah, I’d run it in the past but that was the past.
“I don’t know why you’re here,” she said. Her stone gaze softened as she tilted her head to the side. “Just go.”
“Look, sweetheart, I’m not going to step on your toes.” I held up my hands in defeat and stepped back to put some distance between us. “I’m just here to play. That’s all.”
She rubbed her hand over her face. No makeup. Damn me to hell, if that wasn’t the sexiest thing I’d ever seen. The au natural look worked for her.
“Really.” I leaned down so she could hear me loud and clear. “If Dad told you to manage the team, then manage the team. I won’t get in your way. And having a ringer won’t hurt one bit. Especially if they’re as bad as they’ve always been.”
She smiled. All my previous perceptions about her disappeared. I’d thought she was at least in her thirties, but once the scowl was gone, I’d seen my error in judgment. She was closer to my age. Wisps of her dark blond hair framed her high cheekbones. Her eyes shone with sparks of gold mixed in with the brown. I shook my head to clear it. Amidst was not usually part of my vocabulary and it didn’t need to start either. Chicks were not in my immediate future and a horrible one was in my not-so-distant past. Nope, it didn’t matter how cute this girl was, or how sexy her lips pouted, or how much of a turn on her mischievous eyes were. None of that mattered. I wasn’t going to get involved in anything more than a one-night stand at this point.
“Fine, but you’re gonna have to listen to me. If I put on the shift, then shift. And if you call me sweetheart one more time, you’ll see what a ball buster I can be.” She walked backward away from me and shouted over her shoulder. “Hope everyone here is okay with Chuck joining the team.”
A few people said hello while Joey whooped. He waved again before barely catching a ball coming his way. The pretty brunette he played catch with didn’t even glance at me. Very well. Not every girl needed to appreciate my fine form. I didn’t need a girl anyway. That was definitely something I’d have to remind myself of every single day this summer. Once my final year in college started, maybe I’d consider it. And, like I said, a one-nighter wasn’t out of the question. Just not with anyone who worked for the almighty Charles Mathis.
“I’m not,” a deep voice said behind me. I turned around and leered at the man. Roger Dorsey didn’t stare, he glared with outright hatred. He still played the bully. It never worked on me.
“Why’s that?” the new manager said.

BLOG TOUR: The Secret Brokers by Alexandrea Weis

The Secret Brokers

Alexandrea Weis
(Secret Brokers, #1)
Published by: Vesuvian Books
Publication date: April 7th 2020
Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense, Thriller

Dallas August runs a dangerous business—an organization of elite spies for hire.
The secrets trade.
Nothing is off limits, and no price is too high.
When asked to uncover what recluse Gwen Marsh knows about a Mafia kingpin’s death, Dallas poses as a bodyguard to get close to his target, but the stubborn Asian beauty wants nothing to do with him. As the FBI and the Mafia close in, danger drives them together, but can he protect Gwen, or will Dallas be the one risking everything to discover what she is really hiding?
Dallas August is about to find out how dangerous life can be as one of the Secret Brokers.
Once you are in, there is no turning back.

EXCERPT
Dallas came alongside the sofa. “Meeting your father has given me a little more insight into you. He’s tough and made you tough, too.”
“Tough enough for a woman, my father would argue. In his eyes, I’ll never be quite good enough.”
He studied her profile, questioning why she wasn’t shouting, causing an uproar, or engaging in another war of words. He’d kept away to avoid an altercation about his reasons for being there, but as she sat on the sofa, almost appearing comfortable with him, her behavior confounded Dallas more than her brutal stubbornness.
The firelight shimmered off a bottle stuck between her crossed legs.
“Where did you get that?”
She lifted a half-full bottle of vodka. “Dad doesn’t keep liquor in the house, so I smuggled it in. I put it in my bag back at Carl’s. I remembered it when I couldn’t get to sleep.”
The reason for her mellow mood revealed, his trepidation melted away. “Can I join you?”
She waved him to the sofa, wobbling as she moved. “Go right ahead.”
He sat and became hypnotized by the firelight on the portrait. The lines and color of the subject's hands and the way her long dress draped around her ankles impressed him. It was a piece worthy of Carl’s collection.
“Is that your mother?”
She took a long swallow of the vodka and then nodded.
“It was a present from my father right after they adopted me.” She held out the bottle to him. “Do you want some?”
Dallas took the vodka, inspecting her flushed cheeks and the dots of sweat on her brow. “How long have you been down here drinking?”
She rested her head on the sofa and closed her eyes. “A while.”
He brought the bottle to his lips and took a long deep swig. The burn hit the back of his throat, and he shuddered with relief.
She turned to him. “What brought you down here, other than your usual bullshit?”
He swallowed hard, caught off guard. “My usual bullshit?”
“All that stuff you carry around like a fifty-pound weight.” Gwen waved an unsteady hand at his face. “I can see it in your eyes like a loathsome secret you can’t share with anyone. Sometimes you look just as lost as I feel.”
“You’re not lost.” He set the bottle on the floor, wanting to stay sharp. “You know where you’re going and what you want.”
Her heavy sigh rose over the snapping of the fire. “You have no idea what I’m talking about.”
He inched closer, admiring the curve of her jaw. “Explain it to me.”
She rocked her head forward, glaring at him. “Why do you care? You came to get my secret. That’s what you do—steal secrets and pass them on to the highest bidder.” She wrinkled her brow. “How do you sleep at night?”
A lock of her hair tumbled over her shoulder. He wrapped the silky curl around his finger.
“I don’t steal secrets. Whatever you think of me, I came here to protect you.”
She nodded, and her head lolled to the side. “And you’ve done that. Job over. You can go home and forget about me.”
He let go of her hair and sat back, perturbed by his constant hunger for her. It kept him from stealing the key and walking away. He hoped it died once he returned to New York.
“Forgetting you is going to be difficult.”
She rested her cheek on the sofa, tilting her head, and dissecting his face with her gaze. “I thought you hated me. I got on your nerves, frustrated the hell out of you, never listened to a word you said and—”
“Got under my skin in the process.”
He put his face closer to hers, and something broke inside him. It was like a tall wall tumbling after a great siege, and all the emotions he’d kept locked away were free.
