REVIEW: Windows on Christmas by Bill Crowder

Windows on Christmas
Bill Crowder

A different perspective can revolutionize our appreciation of the familiar. This is what Bill Crowder does as he examines the familiar story of the birth of Christ in the gospel of Luke. By looking through the windows provided by those who were there--Mary and Joseph, the angels and the shepherds, Simeon and Anna--we see and feel what they saw and felt, and learn from their responses. As we enter into the nativity events that altered the world forever and as we join the humble worshipers who welcomed Christ at His birth, we get what we need most--fresh perspective.

This was a remarkable story about Christmas. It shines a light on the life and times of the people involved in the birth of baby Jesus and how each character reacted to the news. I absolutely loved reading this story. It will stay in my heart forever and will be a story that I will read over and over every year at Christmas time. I highly recommend this read.

REVIEW: Twas the Knight Before Christmas by M. Clarke

Twas the Knight Before Christmas
M. Clarke

Twas the Knight before Christmas,
when all through Max and Matthew’s house
Not a creature was stirring?—but not in these boys’ family house;
Stress, deadlines, and naughty children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar plums did NOT dance in their heads,
When they met with obstacles, mounted to the sky,
Could they overcome the hurdles before time flies?
When what to their wondering dreamy brown eyes did appear,
But peace, harmony, and calmness, my dears.
And all was right in the land of Knights.
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

This was such an awesome family oriented story. I was all cuddled up in a blanket enjoying this read on a cold Christmas Eve night. This story made me all warm and fuzzy inside.
The characters were phenomenal. I loved getting to know each character and reading their POV’s and how life was for them.
The story-line was addicting. I absolutely loved how this story was based around happiness, love, loyalty, and family. I also loved that this story revolved around Christmas and I highly recommend this read.
CAUTION: Due to some sex scenes READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED

REVIEW: Secret Santa by Kristine Cheney

Secret Santa
Kristine Cheney

Holly Gordon’s estrangement from her family makes loneliness of the Christmas season hit close to home. Volunteering for the annual Ashton Falls Secret Santa Program is more than a comfort, it’s a blessing. Just knowing she’s able to help another hurting soul experience the joy of a heartfelt Christmas makes her own reality a tiny bit sweeter, that is, until Marcus Jenner ends up on her list.

Marcus Jenner is more than a bronze, muscled looker. This Chickasaw loner isn’t happy being placed on the town’s Secret Santa list. Suffering from the blow of a devastating loss, he has chosen to withdraw from living almost completely. For the life of him, he can’t figure why this pretty little blonde keeps bumping into him, calling him by name, and insisting on giving him presents. Unfortunately for Marcus, every time she does, a billowing cloud of havoc seems to ensue. Why can’t this uninvited vixen leave him alone?

They say time and fate have all of the answers. Holly, in all of her innocence, is drawn to Marcus like a moth to the flame. But Marcus has no intentions of submitting to the threat of his newfound feelings. A painful exchange pushes their lives into a pendulum chaos. His demand for privacy is granted by Holly’s hidden illness. Her sudden absence hits him hard, especially when the arrival of a stranger delivers the rest of his gifts. Right away, he knows something’s horribly wrong.

Love and selfless giving can rouse a wounded, sleeping heart. But sometimes a Secret Santa gets a few unexpected gifts of her own.

This story really tugged at my heartstrings and reminded me of the true meaning of Christmas. It even lifted my spirits too and I enjoyed the turn of every page. I must admit that a piece of my heart and soul was left in the pages of this sweet, sweet story. This is a beautiful story of love, compassion and what Christmas is really all about. A Scrooge was turned into a believer once again, with the heart of the most beautiful soul that was bound to give heart whole heart and soul to make one Christmas bright. This story has an incredible ending with a magnificent turnout. This story was so inspiring. It's a magical story that made me made me cry, laugh, and smile. I am now a true believer that Secret Santas do exist. I highly recommend this adorable Christmas story to enjoy, but be warned, this is tissue box worthy.

REVIEW: Five Golden Rings by K.L. Brady

Five Golden Rings
A Chistmas Novella
K.L. Brady

Kristie fell out of love with Christmas in D.C. when her father died three years ago. But this Christmas is different now that she’s engaged to Zach. She’s ready to embrace the spirit of the season again, at least until she catches Zach with another woman on her way to the National Tree Lighting. She confronts him and runs out of her nightmare, but arrives at Presidential Park just in time to trip over a dream…

A.J. Dawson is back home in D.C. after a whirlwind global music tour. All he wants is to celebrate a quiet, traditional D.C. Christmas with his socialite almost-fiancĂ©e, Sabrina, but she’s got different ideas—A.J. serving at her beck-and-call, hanging on her arm at high-class parties, while ignoring his every wish, except one. Fed up, he’s determined to enjoy the season his way and makes his way to the National Tree Lighting, a moment too late to get in before the gates closed, but just in time to fall for the right girl…

When they are unexpectedly parted with only each other’s first name, can a Missed Connection ad and a little Christmas magic bring them back together?

I usually wait to start Christmas stories until after Thanksgiving, but the cover of this book kept begging me to pick it up and read it, so I decided to quit fighting it and pick it up. Boy, I am glad I did too.

This was a magical and fun read. It brought forth an incredible love story with an awesome meaning of how these characters celebrated the meaning of Christmas and brought two strangers together. I absolutely loved the meaning behind the title of the story. The author was a genius when she wrote this story. I have to say that this story filled my heart and soul and helped me remember what Christmas really means. I feel as if the spirit of Christmas has been rejuvenated back into my heart this year by just reading this story. It's a beautiful Christmas romance with a touch of comedy added. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

REVIEW: Pieces On Earth by Cathy Bryant

Pieces On Earth
A Christmas Novela
Cathy Bryant
Genre: Christian

As the wife of a naval aviator in sunny Pensacola, Florida, Liv Tulley eagerly anticipates the first Christmas in several years with her husband, daughter, and extended family. Then her husband is unexpectedly deployed for an undetermined amount of time, smashing her white Christmas dreams to pieces. Can she find God's peace in the midst of life's pieces?

Pieces on Earth

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

YA Paranormal is my favorite genre as a reader, but as a blogger and reviewer, I am prone to stepping outside of my comfort zone and giving other genres a try.

I think I have found a new favorite Author for 2016, and not just any Author, but a Christian Author!! I was blown away as I read this marvelous story of life, love, and the word of GOD!! This story put joy into my heart and soul as I kept reading. I loved how the Author entwined the word of GOD into the story, and even though, I know the story, it made me just as excited as it did Chesney. I was also in awe at the reminder that we all are broken and we need GOD in our lives just as much now as we ever did in previous years and help us put our 'Pieces' back together. This amazing story shined a new light for me at the end of my dark tunnel that I have recently found myself in. This story has renewed my HOPE once again. This story is a beacon to believers and non-believers alike. If you are not a believer, this miracle story will change your life and make you think about what you believe and don't believe. I am very excited to read more by this author and I highly recommend this to all to read.
