REVIEW: Heartfall by J.B. McGee

Heartfall
J.B. McGee

Claire Ross has never been good enough. Not for the girls in the elite group of dancers in her class and certainly not for the approval of her ballet teacher, Mr. Robins. She definitely doesn’t like what she sees in the mirror. Simply put, she doesn’t love herself, so how could she possibly love someone else?

After twelve years of friendship, Sebastian Reyes’ adoring gaze holds more. They soon find themselves unable to control their feelings for one another.

When tragedy strikes, Claire finds herself in a very unlikely and unfavorable position. Regardless of the weight of the emotion, she must make difficult decisions that impact the rest of her life.

Will Claire see that her true love has been right in front of her? Happily ever after isn’t just for fairy tales. To get hers, all she has to do is trust, open her heart and fall.

I am in shock and awe with tears streaming down my face as I write this review today. This book was sad, gripping, and yet fantastic all at the same time. The story hit on a few very hard topics and I am glad that the author took the steps she did to make this story come alive and make it amazing. There was bullying, teen pregnancy, love, loss, heartbreak, suicide, deaths, low self esteem, adoptions, and the list goes on, and it makes for a rip your heart out and stomp on it kind of feelers. Sure, I laughed, cried, and got angry right with the main character, but I would read this book over and over and still be amazed by the words that this phenomenal author put to paper. This is a remarkable story that has taken a piece of my heart and soul and neatly stuffed it into its pages for safe keeping. The ending as the biggest shocker of them all and I loved how the author tied up the story with that ending. I highly recommend this story, though, fair warning, there are a lot of feelers in this story and a box of tissues is also highly recommended too. This book receives my five book review.

This is the first time I have read anything by this author and I am so glad that I took a chance and had the opportunity to purchased this book and read it.
