RELEASE DAY BLITZ: Radioactive by H.G. Lynch

Radioactive
H.G. Lynch

The world ended...

Now, humanity survives on scraps, beaten into corners of old cities by Rads - radioactive zombies, a fallout of the nuclear war.

In the year 2187, Scotland is one of the last homes to civilization, but the country is run by a corrupt, dictatorial government who utilize brutal police forces known as Shapers.

Andy survives by trading trinkets for food, and relying on nobody but herself, her best friend, and her Uncle...until Shayne saves her life in an encounter with the Rads.

But Shayne isn't the hero he appears to be. He hides a dark past, and his interest in Andy isn't innocent. He's part of a rebellion trying to take down the government - and they want to use Andy to do it.

If she wants to live, Andy will have to fight zombies, cruel political leaders, and her growing attraction to the mysterious hottie, Shayne.

Excerpt:

I bounce my foot once last time, and break into a sprint, ignoring the pain in my leg. The gravel crunches loudly under my feet, my usual stealth ruined by my awkward gait, and my blood pounds in my ears. I’m one-step away from the edge when I realise I don’t have the speed I need, but I can’t stop now. If I try, my momentum will only carry me over the edge, so I hold my breath and propel myself into the air with as much force as I can muster. I stretch out my arms, reaching desperately for the rebar as it comes closer and closer—not close enough.
My heart sinks as my fingertips pass through the air, inches from the rebar. I squeeze my eyes shut, unable to even scream, as I drop like a stone toward the broken concrete below. I have only a second, as I fall, to think that this is going to hurt like a bitch.
And then…thud. I jerk to a stop, my head whipping back on my neck, and a bolt of pain shooting up my leg. It takes me a second to realise that I didn’t hit the pavement. I’ve landed in somebody’s arms.
With the air knocked out of me from the impact, and my heart galloping so fast I feel as if I might have a heart attack, I peel my eyes open and look up at my saviour. Steely grey eyes meet mine, and a jolt of realisation strikes me, closely followed by a flare of fury. The guy from the warehouse just saved my life — again.

RELEASE DAY BLITZ: Cursed Rebel by H.G. Lynch

Cursed Rebel
H.G. Lynch

My grandma always warned me never to trust a Faery. I never believed they were real...until I was kidnapped by one.

Finn is an obnoxious, mercurial Fae whose job it is to bring me to the King. He's gorgeous, but in this world, the prettiest things are the deadliest.

But if I want to survive the Fae realm and find a way home, I'll have to trust him...for now.

$2.99 or FreeonKU

Teaser:

My breath caught in part fear and part awe at the faery boy’s beauty. One side of his mouth tilted up in a smirk.
“About time you woke up. I was starting to think you were going to pull a Sleeping Beauty, and I’d have to kiss you to wake you up.”
I swallowed and sat up, forcing my eyes off him to take in my surroundings. I was lying in a field of swaying purple flowers, the sun beating down on me through a canopy of lush green leaves. Through the shifting pattern of leaves above, I could see the sky was a perfect, summer-soft blue. The air was warm, a gentle breeze teasing my hair around my face. Somewhere, a bird sang in trilling, sweet notes. It was incredibly beautiful, and completely terrifying. I most definitely wasn’t in Kansas anymore.
“Where…where am I?” I asked, my voice barely a whisper. Chills raced down my arms, and my heart rabbited in my chest. This has to be a dream. It has to be.
Scared and confused, I looked at the faery boy, who leaned casually against a nearby tree with his head tilted as he watched me. I scrambled backward, away from him. “Where am I? Where have you taken me?” I yelled, my terror growing with every passing moment that I didn’t wake up, back in my own bed.
The faery boy took a step toward me, his hand held out, and I sprang to my feet, almost tripping over tree roots. His eyes widened. “Whoa. Relax, Lucy. You don’t want to go running off in this place—believe me.”

RELEASE DAY BLITZ: Insane by H.G. Lynch

Insane
H.G. Lynch

Something evil is going on in the Montgomery Psychiatric Hospital; every time there is an unexplainable blackout, a patient dies.

Callie isn't insane - she sees the ghost of her dead best friend only because he really is there. It's just that nobody believes her.

Casey is scarred after a horrific attack during which he killed someone. Temporary insanity was his plea, and the asylum is his prison.

With fear and death lurking everywhere, and no way to escape, Callie is certain it's only a matter of time before she or Casey, the odd boy she has an inexplicable link with, becomes the next victim of the creature in the shadows.

Trapped in the asylum with a killer on the loose, there's plenty of reason to be afraid of the dark.

Teaser:

She nodded and scribbled one more note on her clipboard before clicking her pen and tucking it into the breast pocket of her blouse. “Of course. Tomorrow, then. And Callie? I suggest you don’t try to escape again in the meantime. There are guards set outside your room, and I have convinced the nurses that you don’t need to be sedated. But, if you try this again, you will be moved to a more secure room and be put under daily sedation. Just so you are fairly warned.”
With that cheery message, she turned and knocked on the door to signal the guards to let her out. It swung open and she slid out. Once she was gone, I turned to glare at Chester. “I hate you.”
He smiled lazily. “You love me,” he countered. I shot him the finger and then reached for the edge of the blanket. He frowned, sitting up. “You’re really going to sleep?”
            “Yes. I’m tired.”
He twitched as I pulled back the blanket. He got off the bed in an eerily fluid movement that nobody with a corporeal body could achieve, and watched me crawl into it. I tugged the blanket up to my neck and sighed. Chester folded himself on the floor across the room, picking at a loose thread in the knee of his jeans. I closed my eyes.
            “Callie?” he murmured.
I didn’t bother opening my eyes. “Yeah?”
He was quiet for a long moment, so long that I cracked an eyelid to make sure he was still there. Sometimes he just…disappeared. He didn’t always mean to – he said that sometimes it was like he just fainted, and it could be minutes or days before he woke up and reappeared. But he was still there, sitting on the floor, looking despondent and thoughtful. Looking at his knees, he said, “I’m sorry you didn’t escape this time.”
A bone-deep weariness flooded me and I sighed again, curling into a ball on my side. “Yeah,” I muttered, “So am I.”
