EXCERPT
CHAPTER ONE
A world on fire. It ended with a whimper, per se. Society and civilization that is. There were screams and cries but they were drowned out beneath waves of rushing hellfire.
It moved across the planet, consuming almost everything it could touch. Windows shattered, buildings fell, and cars and people melted where they sat.
Whether you believe in God and the Bible or not, this was surely similar to the story of Noah. However, rather than the world being restarted by the Almighty with water, this time, the cleansing was coming from merciless flame.
Have you ever seen the power of fire? Fire, in its wildest, untamed freedom is as breathtakingly beautiful as it is destructive. The things it can do and the things that it did do were worse than any movie, any spoken word, or any scripture could ever describe. It was something that the human mind could not fully grasp or understand except only if experiencing it first-hand themselves. Fire, moving so fast it could burn the length of an entire football field in seconds. Fire, so strong that it reduced brick homes to ash. Fire, so bright that when the sun was blacked out by its consuming smoke, it still lit up the horizon. Fire, so hot that it melted metal and took your breath away just being near.
It was Hell on Earth, but it was not how it began.
